SimStat data file supports not only numerical and categorical data, dates and short alpha-numeric variable but also memos and documents variables allowing one to store in the same project file responses to open-ended questions, interview transcripts, full reports, etc. Since WordStat, QDA Miner, and SimStat share the same file format, one can easily perform statistical analysis on numerical and categorical data using SimStat, perform qualitative coding on stored documents using QDA Miner or apply the powerful content analysis and text mining features of WordStat on those same documents. Moreover, the coexistence of numerical, categorical and textual data in the same data file gives a unique ability to explore relationships between numerical and textual variables or compare qualitative codings or content categories between subgroups of individuals.

WordStat is a module that must be run from either of the base products SimStat or QDA Miner. QDA Miner
QDA Miner is an easy-to-use mixed-model qualitative data analysis software package for coding, annotating, retrieving and analyzing small and large collections of documents and images. QDA Miner may be used to analyze interview or focus group transcripts, legal documents, journal articles, even entire books, as well as drawings, photographs, paintings, and other types of visual documents. Its seamless integration with SimStat, a statistical data analysis tool, and WordStat, a quantitative content analysis and text mining module, gives you unprecedented flexibility for analyzing text and relating its content to structured information including numerical and categorical data.

Note: QDA Miner will run on a Mac OS computer with Parallels, Boot Camp, Virtual Box, CrossOver,
or other Windows emulation tools. QDA Miner also will run on a Linux computer using CrossOver
or Wine.
